CONTAMINATED LAND RISK ASSESSMENT:

An Introduction to Contaminated Land Risk Assessment

20th-21st April, 2010; 12th-13th October, 2010 - £545

An essential introduction to quantitative risk assessment for both human health and controlled waters receptors, covering the fundamental principles and techniques for the assessment of contaminated land risks, focusing on the requirements of the Environment Agency’s 'Model Procedures'. The course includes hands-on sessions involving the application of both CLEA-V1.03 and the Remedial Targets Worksheet.

Endorsed by the Geological Society.

Applying the Environment Agency’s Remedial Targets Methodology

5th May, 2010 - £275.00

Provides hands-on guidance on how to apply the Environment Agency’s ‘P20’ remedial targets methodology and spreadsheet.

Endorsed by the Geological Society.

Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessment Using RISC

9th June, 2010 - £275.00

A hands-on introduction to this internationally renowned tool for fate and transport modeling and human health risk assessments for contaminated sites.

Groundwater Risk Assessment of Contaminated Land

21st-22nd September, 2010 - £545.00

How to perform a detailed quantitative risk assessment for groundwater receptors, using generic and detailed methods, including hands-on guidance on relevant software tools.

Endorsed by the Geological Society.

Human Health Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessment

16th-17th March, 2010; 7th-8th September, 2010 - £545.00

A practical course offering in-depth knowledge of human health risk assessment including a review of the UK legislative framework, a full discussion of the common modelling approaches and the interpretation of model results. The course provides a focus on the software tools available for human health risk assessment, including practical sessions involving CLEA-V1.03 and RISC 4.

Endorsed by the Geological Society.

DATA MANAGEMENT & STATISTICS:

Geostatistics for Contaminated Land

28th September, 2010 - £275.00

This course focuses on emerging UK guidance on comparing contamination data with critical concentrations (SGV's and similar). This guidance places a heavy emphasis on the use of statistics within the context of good data management, sound site investigation design, and robust conceptual modelling and will supersede Appendix A of CLR7.

Endorsed by the Geological Society.

GROUNDWATER FLOW AND TRANSPORT MODELLING:

Borehole and Aquifer Test Interpretation

Please contact ESI for next available dates

The leading UK and European pumping test interpretation short course, combining theory and hands-on practicals.

Endorsed by the Geological Society.

Practical Groundwater Flow and Transport Modelling

11th-13th May, 2010; 26th-28th October, 2010 - £815.00

The UK’s most popular, hands-on introduction to groundwater modelling. A 3 day course covering all aspects of model development, calibration and use. The course is based around the MODFLOW family of modelling tools.

Endorsed by the Geological Society.

FEFLOW

18th–21st May 2010 - £815.00

ESI Ltd, in conjunction with DHIWASY, is pleased to announce a training course on FEFLOW. This course provides an introduction to groundwater modelling using the simulation system FEFLOW, a finite element software package for modelling fluid flow and transport of dissolved constituents and/or heat transport processes in the ground. On the basis of an example, delegates build up a three dimensional flow and transport model applying the most important program functions (preprocessing, simulation, results evaluation).
