About the course

Our postgraduate qualifications and short courses in Environmental Management are ideal for anyone who wishes to enhance their qualifications while continuing to work full time. If you wish to pursue a career in environmental management, conservation or the rural environment then this is the right programme for you.

You are able to develop an individually structured programme which best suits your interests, with the option of specialising in Environmental Management for Business or Water and Environmental Management. You will acquire expertise in the choice, design and implementation of techniques to improve the environmental performance or organisations and to enhance the natural environment.

Our taught modules are delivered online using the University of Hertfordshire’s state-of-the-art virtual learning environment, StudyNet. This provides you with interactive tutor support, facilities for online group work and discussions and access to the University’s electronic journal library. You will also attend 2-3 day short courses at the University. The teaching teams comprise of University staff and recognised experts and practitioners experienced in implementing environmental management systems. Many modules can lead to IEMA and CIWEM accreditation.
