engineering and policy, with over 150 academic staff actively
researching in these areas, many of whom are recognised as international

About the School of Geography,
Earth & Environmental Sciences
It has
more than eighty academic and research staff offering a wide range
of environmental expertise, focused around four major research
themes: hydroecology (integrating research in climatology, hydrology,
hydrogeomorphology and ecological processes and climate); climate
and atmospheric research (specialising in applied meteorology
and climatology); earth sciences (environmental geophysics, palaeoenvironments,
sedimentology and petroleum geosciences) and environmental health
and risk management.
The School
incorporates the Division
of Environmental Health and Risk Management, a multi-disciplinary
research and teaching centre focusing on the provision of postgraduate
and post-experience education and training in the fields of environmental
health and risk management. It has particular expertise in air
pollution, water chemistry and pollutant cycling.
