WRAP's mission is to accelerate resource efficiency by creating efficient markets for recycled materials and products, while removing barriers to waste minimisation, re-use and recycling
The Recycling Managers Training Programme
The Recycling Managers Training Programme aims to enhance the skills base of the UK's recycling managers and officers
Aimed at staff from local authorities, the community/not-for-profit and private sectors
Encouraging good practice, improving collection scheme effectiveness and addressing implications of end market demands
These courses focus on equipping delegates with the knowledge, skills and tools to develop cost-effective systems with high participation and recovery rates for the collection and sorting of materials for recycling and composting, that meet end market requirements.
Places on the courses are fully funded by WRAP for recycling officers and managers from local authorities and staff from not-for-profit/community schemes or private waste management companies who are working with Local Authorities to manage, plan or promote recycling schemes.
The Programme comprises of the Recycling Managers Training Course and the Advanced course.
The Recycling Managers Training Course is accredited by CIWM, CIWEM, CIEH, WAMITAB, and the University of Salford. Accreditation is being sought for the revised Recycling Managers Advanced Training Course.
