Martin Baxter, Chief Policy Advisor, IEMA

Martin leads on IEMA's policy and external engagement activity. He works in the UK, and internationally, to support the transition to a low carbon, resource efficient and sustainable economy.

Martin is head of the UK delegation to the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) committee on environmental management standardisation, which develops global standards in environmental management systems (EMA), auditing, environmental labelling, life-cycle assessment and carbon and water footprinting. He is Chair-Elect of the ISO committee responsible for EMS-related standards.

Martin chairs the European Standards Body (CEN) Strategic Advisory Body on the Environment environmental management team, and represents the UK on the European Commission Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) regulatory committee.

Martin is a board member of the Society for the Environment (SocEnv) and a member of the SocEnv Registration Authority.
