A Chartered Environmentalist with over nine years’ experience in the water industry, Rob also has over twenty years’ involvement in the catering and environmental sectors.
Specific expertise includes development and implementation of reporting systems, schematic design, project management, and quality management systems.
Working in the role of an engineer with a history degree provides a unique perspective into the different types of project undertaken. The core skills this degree brings regarding historical analysis have proved to be invaluable when dissecting large quantities of apparently inconsistent data together with the ability to understand and communicate issues to a wide audience.
Using his acute analytical ability, Rob has developed and implemented reporting systems aimed at improving accurate data collection and validation. He has incorporated this into a career focused on delivering industry specific data and network reporting systems utilised across functions to have long-term impact on strategic plans.
Rob leads a skilled valve survey team which is tasked with tackling over 38,000 assets over the next four years.
From being seconded within Scottish Water for most of his water career, he has developed & nurtured effective client management technique which is matched by wide number and level of contacts throughout Scotland.
His commitment to the water industry is recognised by his involvement with the Institute of Water area committees and his Chartership endorsement from the Society for the Environment.
