The Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea to expand the Residential Noise Management Service

With a total of 20,000 claims are made to Residential Noise Management Service Centers every year, it is clear to see that the tension among neighbors caused by residential noise is worsening day by day. In order to alleviate this problem, the Ministry of Environment (MOE) of the Republic of Korea provides Residential Noise Management Service, wherein the Ministry measures the noise level for free and provides counselling for conflicts among neighbors caused by the noise pollution. Starting this year, the MOE will be expanding the service to 5,200 cases.

10,000 people in Europe face premature deaths due to noise pollution

The European Environment Agency (EEA) estimated that at least 10,000 people in Europe face heart-related premature deaths every year caused by overexposure to noise. Noise pollution causes heart diseases, disrupts sleep to a high level and causes cognitive impairment. Moreover, it is known to be the second most harmful environmental factor to our health, next to air pollution.

Technical Overview

  • This technology helps to reduce construction noise in the construction sites in the middle of the city centers by installing noise reduction equipment on the hydraulic breakers, which usually are the causes of noise in construction sites.

Technical Overview

  • In order to waive the noise of heavyweight impact on apartment/flat floors, this foundation developed a noise reduction technology by using noise-reducing materials which was created through a research on the characteristics of vibration through mock-up tests, measurement and interpretations.

  • It reduces time and costs by building a standardized test that can accurately assess the function of various floor noise reduction structures
